Ask and Track is a public civic transparency platform.
Users submit questions directed to individuals holding public office or running for public office. Submitted questions may be published publicly. We may contact the identified individual or office and publish any response received.
This platform is public by design.
2. Public Publication
By submitting content, you acknowledge and agree that:
- Your name may be published.
- Your submitted question may be published.
- The identity of the intended recipient may be published.
- Status updates may be published.
- Any response received may be published in full.
You waive any expectation of privacy regarding submitted content.
3. License to Use Content
By submitting content, you grant Ask and Track a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free, transferable license to use, reproduce, distribute, publish, display, archive, modify, and create derivative works from the content in any format or medium.
This license survives removal of content and termination of your use of the site.
4. User Representations
You represent and warrant that:
- You have the legal right to submit the content.
- The content is not knowingly false or defamatory.
- The content does not violate any law.
- The content does not infringe intellectual property rights.
You are solely responsible for your submissions.
5. No Guarantee of Delivery or Response
We do not guarantee that:
- A question will be delivered.
- A recipient will respond.
- A response will be accurate or truthful.
- The service will function without interruption.
6. No Warranty
This website is provided “as is” and “as available.”
We disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to:
- Merchantability
- Fitness for a particular purpose
- Non-infringement
- Accuracy
7. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Ask and Track shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising out of your use of the website.
This includes damages resulting from publication of content submitted by you or others.
8. Section 230 Notice
Ask and Track provides an interactive computer service. We are not the publisher or speaker of content submitted by users within the meaning of 47 U.S.C. § 230.
We are not responsible for user-generated content.
9. Moderation Rights
We reserve the right, but are not obligated, to:
- Review submissions
- Edit submissions for formatting
- Refuse to send a question
- Remove content
- Close or suspend access
We may exercise these rights at our sole discretion.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Ask and Track and its operators from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses arising from:
- Your submitted content
- Your violation of these Terms
- Your violation of any law or third-party rights

These Terms shall be governed by the laws of Illinois, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
12. Changes
We may modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the website constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
